Dr. Gary Smith is the Chief Medical
Director of the Channel Islands Surgery Center in Oxnard, California.
In 1975, he Graduated with honors from the UCLA School
of Medicine. Dr. Smith is a Board Certified Physician in both
the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Academy
of Family Practice. In 1998, Dr. Smith became a certified acupuncture
expert from the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Smith
has worked at the UCLA Medical Center, St. Johns Regional Medical
Center, and at the Santa Monica Hospital and Medical Center as
an anesthesiologist and pain management physician since 1975.
Dr. Smith is a martial
artist and sports enthusiast and currently practices Gracie Jiu
Jitsu under Rickson Gracie where he holds the rank of blue belt.
Dr. Smith's 24 years as a medical doctor, knowledge of the human
nervous system, and vast experience in surgery, pain management,
and medication makes him an indispensable part of Strength Through
